Lupo: a Brazilian brand with 100 years of history

Not many brands are so successful that they can celebrate 100 years in the market, but Lupo is one of them! Founded in 1921 by the Italian Henrique Lupo, the Brazilian brand has been present in the country and in the world ever since! As we mentioned, Lupo’s history began in 1921, with the foundation of the brand’s “Fábrica de Meias” (“Socks’ Factory”)! In the following 25 years, the brand consolidated itself as the largest manufacturer of men’s socks in the country – famous for its high quality and for being made of 100% cotton. In 1947, a revolution started in the company, with the insertion of the synthetic material that would become famous worldwide: nylon!

After a few more decades, with the brand still extremely well-known by all Brazilians as a symbol of quality, Lupo started the production of women’s socks – another revolution for the country’s fashion! From then on, the company’s expansion took place quickly and naturally, including the import of machines from both Italy and Japan. Until 1988, the brand was synonymous with incredible socks!

Due to its gigantic growth, the next step was, of course, product diversification in the year 1990! Since then, the brand has been producing men’s and women’s underwear that is comfortable, beautiful, and long-lasting. And don’t think that it will stop there: in the 2000s, the brand started its lines of sports clothing, “Lupo Sport”, which follows the same amazing characteristics as its socks and underwear!

In 2021, Lupo celebrates its 100th anniversary with a lot of history, innovation, and success!
