Many people think that keeping the spine straight is synonymous with good posture, but this is not entirely correct. Good, healthy posture is one that seeks balance: the whole body should be aligned, with the weight distributed equally on both sides of the body. 1. DON’T CROSS YOUR LEGS
Many people – especially women – keep their legs crossed when sitting. Remember what we said about distributing the weight equally on both sides of the body? That doesn’t happen when you cross your legs! So a key tip is to keep both feet flat on the floor when you sit.
2. VISUALIZE A THREAD RUNNING FROM THE TOP OF YOUR HEAD TO THE END OF YOUR SPINE
Another simple tip is to imagine that there is a line drawn down the center of your body. That way you can mentally visualize how straight or crooked your spine is! But this visualization technique requires a lot of concentration and daily exercise to become a habit, okay?
3. USE A WAIST BELT
If the previous tip seems too abstract for you, don’t worry! There are more concrete ways to maintain a healthy posture, one of them being the use of a waist belt. Although many people think that these types of belts are purely for aesthetic purposes, their purpose goes far beyond that!
Waist belts, by keeping the abdomen compressed, activate the abdominal and back muscles, so that keeping the spine upright will come naturally. And another misconception is that they are uncomfortable. Waist belts don’t need to be made of rigid materials that almost don’t allow you to breathe (unless it is a medical recommendation…).

5. KEEP SOME SORT OF REMINDER

After a while, it will all become natural and you won’t need these reminders anymore.
