Creating a flawless hair care routine
Just like skin, hair needs to be taken care of regularly. However, things aren’t as simple as simply washing your hair with the first shampoo you see in the drugstore… There are several things you should consider when creating your hair care routine to make your locks shiny and healthy!
If you think that to have a great hair care routine you need to have hundreds of products, you’re wrong! It’s not about quantity (or even expensiveness of the product) – it’s about knowing your mane and scalp. So today, we are going to teach you how to find the proper care routine for your hair![1]Everygirl, T. (2020, July 12). How to Create a Hair-Care Routine. HOW TO HAVE A FLAWLESS HAIR CARE ROUTINE
- KNOW WHAT YOUR HAIR TYPE IS
You probably already know whether your hair is straight, wavy, curly, or coily. However, there are important aspects to consider when identifying what your hair type is! You should know if your hair is fine or thick, frizzy, oily, fragile, or coarse. These things have a great impact on what products you should use as well as the frequency you should use them!
- PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR SCALP
When it comes to creating the perfect hair care routine, you need to consider your scalp as well! After all, its health determines the health of your locks, so don’t neglect it! Similar to facial skin, the scalp can be dry, oily, mixed, or sensitive. Therefore, to ensure its health and the overall aspect of your mane, know this information when buying hair products!
- DETERMINE HOW OFTEN YOU SHOULD WASH YOUR HAIR
Several things have a say in the frequency you wash your hair. Although most experts suggest that you shouldn’t wash your hair daily, you must consider your hair and scalp’s conditions as well as your routine!
Let’s suppose you exercise every day and get super sweaty: to make sure your hair won’t be oily throughout the day, you should wash it after exercising – even if it means washing daily! Women with straight hair normally feel the need to wash their every day too, whereas curly-haired women can go more days without cleaning their locks.
- HAVE THESE “ESSENTIAL” PRODUCTS
As we said right at the beginning of this article, a good hair care routine doesn’t necessarily mean having loads of different products. But to make sure you start in the right direction, we are going to recommend you a few items that most women should have in hand!
- Shampoo and conditioner specifically made for your hair type
- Leave-in conditioner
- Hair mask
- Wide-toothed comb (for wavy and curly hair) or a paddle brush
- High-quality hairdryer (plus a diffuser if you have curls)
- Heat protector cream
- WASH YOUR HAIR WITH LUKEWARM OR COLD WATER
We know how hard it can be to take a shower that isn’t super hot but to make sure your hair will look good and healthy after washing, you should try to use lukewarm or cold water to do it! If you absolutely can’t take a shower without hot water, try at least letting your hair under colder water for about 10 seconds at the end of your shower, ok?
