Find out why you should be using this amazing plant’s oil or gel

A plant found all around the world, aloe vera is a natural wealth for sure! Aloe vera is one of the longest-used plants because of its medicinal properties, such as its ability to soothe and prevent skin infections, as well as for its many benefits for hair. And today, it’s the latter that we’re going to talk about: the benefits of aloe vera for hair![1]Watson, K. (2020, October 15). Aloe Vera for Your Hair: What Are the Benefits? But first, let’s talk about how this plant can be used…

Aloe vera is a plant that contains a gel-like substance in its leaves. You can even have your plant at home, cut the leaves and use the gel! But besides using it in its natural form, you can also combine it with a carrier oil – like olive or castor oils -, turning it into aloe vera oil. So now you know the main two ways it can be used!

BENEFITS OF ALOE VERA FOR THE HAIR

  1. NOURISHES AND PROTECTS THE HAIR

Rich in vitamins such as A, C, and B12, aloe vera is fantastic for giving nutrients to the hair. Filled with other beneficial substances, such as folic acid, it helps to strengthen the hair, make it shinier, and promote new cellular growth, resulting in faster hair growth! Amazing, right?

Besides that, the frequent use of aloe vera in the hair care routine promotes the creation of a protective barrier. As a result, your hair is less exposed to harmful factors such as excessive heat, sunlight, and pollution!

  1. SOOTHES SCALP INFLAMMATIONS OR ITCHINESS

As previously mentioned, aloe vera can soothe inflammation, itchiness, and burnings. Its anti-inflammatory properties are mainly due to the fatty acids that compose the plant. This essentially means that if you suffer from some kind of dermatitis, an itchy or inflamed scalp, using this plant may help you! Just remember that you must talk to a doctor first, ok?

  1. GOOD FOR OILY HAIR

Aloe vera is also amazing if you suffer from oily hair! The substance is a natural gentle cleanser that removes excess sebum and residues from the head, without promoting more oil production. So if you have tried different products to get rid of excessive oiliness, maybe it’s time to try this natural miracle!

DIY HAIR MASK RECIPE

Although aloe vera can be found in ready-made products, such as the amazing hair mask by the Brazilian brand Nazca, if you have access to the plant, you can make your hair treatment with it!

For this simple DIY recipe you’ll need 1 leaf of aloe vera and half a cup of any carrier oil (coconut oil, olive oil, etc) you want! All you need is to cut the outer layer of the leaf with a sharp knife and extract the plant’s gel with a spoon.

Then, rinse the gel-like substance and mix it with the oil of your choice! After that, all you have to do is blend it a little or mix it with a fork until smooth. Apply it to damp clean hair and let it act for 30 minutes! To finish, remove the mixture from the hair with warm or cold water and apply the usual conditioner!

Knowing all these benefits, it’s time to include aloe vera in your hair care routine, isn’t it? Remember that you can either do a homemade treatment or opt for the ready-made ones, like Nazca’s!
