Even if you’re someone who considers yourself to be a little bit chaotic, you know probably don’t enjoy having to browse through your makeup products until you find that one thing you were looking for! HOW TO ORGANIZE YOUR MAKEUP PRODUCTS
- GET ALL OF YOUR MAKEUP PRODUCTS OUT
First of all, you have to see everything you have stocked up in there! Find out every product you have in all the places you may have put them. This will help you to get an overview of how much space you’ll need as well as help you see all the things you may have forgotten about!
2. PICK UP ALL THE THINGS YOU AREN’T USING OR PAST THEIR DUE DATE
After you have all of your products laid in front of you, it’s time to begin the decluttering. You need to pick up everything you don’t wear (because you don’t like the product or because you simply forgot it existed) and put them in a box. Then, check out the due date of each one of them – everything that is expired must be tossed!
After you have separated the products you don’t wear but that are still good to use from the others you should throw away, go through the products you actually wear and see if any of those are expired as well! The products you don’t use but that aren’t expired yet could be donated (or you can start to use them…), for example!
3. CLEAN ALL YOUR PRODUCTS
All right, so now it’s the moment to clean everything – even the things you plan to donate! And we are talking about EVERYTHING: facial powders, blushes, lipstick and especially brushes! Clean the makeup package to have them looking good as new, and wash the brushes to make sure they are free from any bacteria or other residues that may have accumulated with time.
4. SEPARATE THEM
Now that everything has been cleaned, separate the brushes and other accessories from the actual makeup. Then, sort out the makeup products following whatever separation pattern you prefer (everyday products separated from products to go out, foundation and other skin makeup separated from eye makeup, etc.)!
This will for sure help you go through your makeup and it will save you a good time that you would otherwise spend trying to find each of the products you want to use!
5. GET SOME CLEAR ACRYLIC STORAGE OR DRAWER ORGANIZERS
So now that everything is sorted out in the way you prefer, it’s time to actually store them! There are several ways you could store your makeup, but we are going to recommend you a way to do so that seems to be makeup lovers’ favorite: using clear acrylic storage boxes!
This type of storage boxes make it super easy to see everything you own, saving you even more time. However, if you want to store your makeup differently, for example, inside your drawers, a great tip is to use drawer organizers to keep everything where they belong!
BONUS STEP: ADD DECOR AND LIGHTING!
Ok, so this is actually a bonus step because it isn’t exactly related to the actual organization process… If you want to step up your game and feel like a beauty influencer, try having a space dedicated to your skincare and makeup routine! Add some nice decor items to it and a lamp or a mirror with light!
